Updates for February
There has been a slew of updates from Apple in the last week or so, most notably the 10.7.3 release of Lion. The reports coming in so far are favorable: lots of bugs fixed and problems repaired. I will be installing this myself this weekend (after making a clone backup so I can revert if need be) and I will write a further update if I have any trouble myself.

Lots of things have happened since my last update. Time to catch you all up. This is for users of Tiger, Leopard, Snow Leopard and Lion.

10.7.1 is out
If you are one of the few who upgraded to Lion 10.7, Apple just issued the first, much-needed, update. It consists of the usual round of bug fixes and no visible changes. I installed it immediately, did the usual repair-permissions thing, and am using it now.

Just released the 23rd, the 10.6.8 update for Snow Leopard users is available through Software Update, but don’t get it there!
As always, wait a week for all the bugs and problems to appear, then go to Apple.com, Downloads and get the Combo update. If it needs fixing by Apple, that is usually how long it takes them.

May 31st Apple issued a new Security Update, 2011-003, to fix problems with the MacDefender malware that has been biting so many people. (This after two weeks of denying the problem existed.)

The latest update to Paper Glider was the Apple App Store’s 10 billionth download.
Paper Glider 2.0 players are now able to use power-ups from the Boost Shop in the new game mode, “Super Boost”. There are four boosts available, Rocket Boost, Mega Boost, Refill Wind and Emergency Boost. Each one of these boosts offer different benefits, from shooting you across the sky to saving you from crashing.
