5 Finder Functions Your Mac Doesn’t Have But You Get With These Two Apps
The two apps in discussion are TotalFinder and Neu. TotalFinder gives tabbed Finder browsing that looks somewhat like Safari’s tabs. It also gives the ability to compare two folders side-by-side and allows cut and paste within the Finder as well as other options.
There are times when the Mac’s Finder just gives me a headache. Once you’ve used the Finder for a few years it’s frustrating that some things you want to do still can’t be done.
TotalFinder gives you tabbed Finder browsing. There’s also a one-click dual display mode which is to die for.

Neu is a simple application that makes it easier to create new documents in the Finder, without you having to open an application first.
Neu comes with some pre-defined templates, but you can add your own, so you can customise the types of new file available to suit your needs. It can make a blank text file, an empty letter, a shopping list, or anything else that you want.

With these apps you have useful Finder functions that just are not built-in to the Mac’s Finder but probably should be.
